I decided to do a caterpillar cake for Zach's 1st birthday.
It took five boxes of cake to make this one. I used vanilla, pound, chocolate and lemon.
I used the Wilton sports ball cake pan to make five round balls.
The cakes had to cool before I could start to assemble the cake.
Starting to put it all together.
Let the icing begin.
My coffee mug should help you see the size of this cake.
I had to slice off the bottom of each ball so they would sit level.
I used those slices to make the feet.
