Rock N Roll Savannah Half Marathon

November 3, 2012

I decided to do another half marathon this year. My best friend Julie and her husband Brad ran the Rock n Roll half marathon in Savannah last year so we decided that would be a fun race to run.

Jules, Sandi, Stephanie and I before the race started. It was a pretty run and the weather was fantastic. My goal was to finish in under 2 hours. I had severe foot pain at mile 8 that slowed me down a bit and I came in at 2 hours and 27 seconds. Oh so close to that goal!

Showing off our medals

The race was early Saturday morning so we had plenty of time after to relax,
grab a yummy meal and shop.

It was such a fun weekend with great friends.

Halloween

October 31, 2012

Halloween was on a school night this year but that didn't stop these boys from having fun.

The older boys are into Ninjago Lego's so they asked to be ninjas this year.

Zach is our little monkey so this costume was perfect. This is the same costume Landon wore for Halloween when he was Zach's age.

I had a very difficult time getting him to stop for pictures.

He kept trying to give everyone his candy at every house we went to.
It was very sweet and so cute!

Don't mess with these two!

I did not get very good pictures but I can tell you that fun was had by all.

Pumpkin Carving

It was time to carve our pumpkin. Darren is pretty good with a knife so we let him do most of the carving:-)

Ayden is paying attention so he can do the carving duties someday.

We let the boys do all the dirty work and scoop out the pumpkin.

Zachary was in charge of making sure everyone was having fun
while mommy took all the pictures.

The finished product....four happy pumpkins!

Family Pictures

The Fellows family joined us for our Blue Ridge trip this year. I took advantage of having Delisa around and asked her to take some pictures of our family. This is what we got.

The next two are my favorites!

Sweet brothers!

All my boys! Love them so much!

Here is a fun one.
Thank you Delisa for taking such wonderful pictures and keeping me in line when I wanted to stress. Your the best!!

Blue Ridge Trip 2012

We took our annual trip to Blue Ridge, Georgia in late October.

The Fellow's family joined us this year. This was the first time our families
vacationed together and we were so excited!

Our first outing was to Mercer Orchards just down the way from our cabin.

The kids had a blast picking and eating the apples right off the trees.

This is one of our favorite things to do in Blue Ridge. We pick enough apples to bake an apple pie that we have for dessert with some yummy vanilla ice cream.

One of our other favorite things to do is take a ride on the scenic Blue Ridge Railway.

It was a beautiful day and everyone loved the train ride and memories made with friends.

One of our days in Blue Ridge we took a little hike to Amicalola Falls. It is a nice paved path that was easy to maneuver with Zach.

It was so great to vacation with Delisa and her beautiful family. They are such a blessing to us and we look forward to many more family trips together in the future.

There is a great little pumpkin patch right across the street from the falls so we stopped off for some pictures.

Delisa suggested we do some gem mining and it was a hit. The boys loved it!

The crew getting dirty digging for gems.

My mom came with us and offered to watch the kiddos so we could sneak away to dinner.

The guy on the left was singing and playing his guitar in the little courtyard where we sat to eat.
Curtis asked if he could sing with him and before you knew it Darren stole his guitar and they were all singing. It was so much fun!

I mentioned that MiMi came with us. She does her best to avoid pictures but I got one:-)
We had a wonderful trip! So blessed to spend it with family and friends!

Pink Army 5K

October 14, 2012

Our family participated in the Pink Army 5K. This was a special run for me because it was Landon's first 5K. I was also running for a very special friend who is battling breast cancer.

We are so very proud of Landon. He ran the race in 34 minutes.
That's awesome for his first time.

This is Darren and our friend Chris Brower just before crossing the finish line.

It was a great race to run as a family for an awesome cause.

My brother finally beat me....but I will get him next race. We plan to run the Palm Coast racing series together this year. Our next race is a 15K on Thanksgiving morning.

Ayden got to run in the kids race with his friend Kira and he did a great job! It looks like they both had an edge on the Pink Panther:-)

The Peterson Crew.
It won't be long and Zach will be running with us too!

This is my sweet friend Kristina. She is running the real race and winning! She is such an inspiration to me and so many others!

More Baseball

Landon made a big jump from T-ball to Rookie league this year. The big difference is now he is pitched to by a machine that is much faster.

You can tell the new rookies on the team because they seldom make contact with the ball or get a hit. It was rough at first teaching Landon that strikes count now and after three you are out. In T-ball they let them run the bases even if they didn't get a hit.

This picture was taken right before Landon made his first true contact with the ball. He just got a piece of it but that was all he needed.

His next swing was a hit but he did not beat the ball to first base. He was very disappointed and marched back to the dugout fighting back the tears. He understands the game a bit better now and is much tougher when he doesn't get a hit or gets out.
It has been a season of learning for our big guy. We are very proud of him.
Now on to Upward basketball!

Islands of Adventure

October 6, 2012

We took the birthday boy to Islands of Adventure in Orlando for his birthday weekend.
Julie, Brad and the boys joined us.

Our family minus one.
Our little guy stayed home so he could get in a good nap.

The boys had so much fun riding the rides.

Jake was the only one tall enough to get on all the rides but the younger boys did everything they could do until next time.

We had such a great day!
