Zach's Cake

March 9-10, 2012
I decided to do a caterpillar cake for Zach's 1st birthday.
It took five boxes of cake to make this one. I used vanilla, pound, chocolate and lemon.
I used the Wilton sports ball cake pan to make five round balls.

The cakes had to cool before I could start to assemble the cake.

Starting to put it all together.
Let the icing begin.
My coffee mug should help you see the size of this cake.
I had to slice off the bottom of each ball so they would sit level.
I used those slices to make the feet.
almost done!
The finished caterpillar cake!

Upward Banquet

March 8, 2012
Tonight was the end of season banquet for Upward basketball. They have to hold it in the local high school gymnasium because almost 1,000 people attend.

This is most of the team and coach Chris sitting for the group picture.

This is all the upward teams together with their coaches for a group picture. Upward teams start at age 5 and go through high school.
We can't wait to play again in the summer league.

The Butler's

March 4, 2012
This is Jill and Ryan Butler. We have been "doing life" with them in our small group for the past five years. I met Jill through a mom's group I joined when I first moved to Palm Coast. They are from Ohio and will be moving back in April for Ryan's job. We are very sad to see them go but trust that God has big things planned for the Butler family....including a new baby Butler due in August:-)

A few of Jill and Ryan's closest friends had a picnic to celebrate them and asked if I could help out. We planned an afternoon in Washington Oaks Park to show the Butler's how much we love them and the impact they have had on all our lives these past five years.
We had all the families pack a picnic lunch and we provided a table with yummy deserts and goodies.

Darren, Matt & Ryan
These guys work so hard and have little down time...but enjoy the time they can spend together.

Love these girls!

I can't even begin to tell you how much this girl will be missed!!

Lil Monkey will miss his Willow Bean....and Ayden his sweet Scarlett.
Bittersweet day! We will miss you Butler family!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

March 2, 2012
Landon's school is celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday today and the kiddos got to dress as their favorite Dr. Seuss character. Landon picked Thing One.

Thing One unpacking his things after arriving at school.

His teacher Mrs. Moberly made green eggs and ham for the class.

Landon and a few of his classmates eating green eggs and ham.
I think they like them Sam I am!

Opening Day

March 3, 2012
Today was opening day for T-ball. This is Landon's first year playing and he is so excited!

Coach Elliott put Landon in as catcher. I don't think he was crazy about putting on all the extra equipment.

He forgot about the extra stuff and got down to the business of catching balls.

Landon's first hit of the season!

Coach Elliott tried him next at first base. He liked that much better.

Throwing to his buddy Cole now in the catchers spot.

The San Francisco Giants had a great first game. Way to kick off T-Ball season!

Courageous

March 2, 2012
Darren has been in a men's study group through our church for five years now. They meet every Tuesday morning at 6:30am. They just finished up a study called the Resolution for Men. It is based on the movie Courageous. Darren encouraged me to read the book and it is fantastic. I'm so proud of these men for coming together and encouraging one another to be the father and husbands that God has created them to be. The church had a dinner to celebrate these men and the completion of the courageous study.

Darren serves on the worship team. They asked him if he could play a few songs. One of them was the theme song from the movie Courageous. Here is the link for the song by Casting Crowns.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkM-gDcmJeM

It was a great night of celebration and fellowship! I'm so thankful for a Courageous husband!

Florida Hospital Heart Health

Feb 28, 2012
I serve on the Florida Hospital Flagler Women's Health Council. The council hosts a dinner and Dr's from Florida Hospital Flagler come and speak to us about different health topics for women.
It was founded by Dr. Padma Sai and has been a great way to inform and educate women in our community on important health related issues.
My job as one of the council members is to host a table and invite guests to come to this fun event. This was a picture from our table. Great group of gals!
These are the physicians that spoke to us about heart health in women. They set time aside at the end of the night to answer any questions we had about heart health.
It was a very informative and fun night!
