October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our MOPS group was privileged to have Dr Sai come speak to us from Florida Hospital Flagler. Dr Sia is a medical oncologist and works frequently with Darren to treat women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Our group worked on a special craft. We made port pillows. Ports are devices placed in the left chest wall to deliver chemotherapy to cancer patients. These tiny pillows are tied to seat belts in order to alleviate any discomfort patients may feel from the seat belt resting on an implanted port. We donated almost 30 of these pillows to the Judith C. Macko Cancer Resource Library at Florida Hospital Flagler.
